How Much Does a Photo Booth Rental Cost in Houston?

A photo booth is one of the easiest ways to get guests mingling and give them something to take home. But prices are all over the place, and two quotes that look similar can include very different things. This guide explains typical photo booth rental prices in the Houston area, what drives the cost, the questions to ask, and how we price photo booths at OMG! Event Co..

Typical photo booth rental prices around Houston

Here's the short answer. When we looked at published starting prices from Houston-area photo booth companies in October 2026, they ranged from roughly $250 for a basic two-hour digital booth to about $1,100 for premium wedding booth packages. Nationally, WeddingWire reports that couples typically spend $425–$1,000 on a wedding photo booth.

That's a wide range because "photo booth" can mean a lot of different setups. The low end is usually a short rental with digital sharing only. The high end usually adds more hours, unlimited prints, custom backdrops, an online gallery and a full-time attendant.

Treat any starting price as just that: a starting point. The number that matters is the total for your event.

What drives the price of a photo booth rental

1. Hours of service. The biggest factor. Many companies have a 2- or 3-hour minimum, and each additional hour adds to the total. Map out when guests will actually use the booth. Usually that's after dinner and through the dance portion of the night.

2. Prints vs. digital. Instant prints mean paper, ink and equipment, which typically costs more than digital-only sharing (text, email or a QR code). Ask whether prints are unlimited and what size they are.

3. Booth style. Open-air booths, enclosed booths, 360 video platforms and specialty booths are all priced differently. Pick the style that fits your venue space and your crowd.

4. Attendant. A professional attendant keeps the line moving, helps with props and fixes problems on the spot. Most full-service rentals include one; drop-off rentals usually don't.

5. Customization. Custom photo templates with your names, logo or event date, branded welcome screens and specialty backdrops can all add to the price.

6. Travel and setup. Some companies include travel within a set radius and charge beyond it. Ask about setup time, load-in requirements and venue rules.

7. Date and season. Popular dates are booked faster. Some companies charge more for peak dates, so ask.

Questions to ask before you book a photo booth

  • How many hours are included, and what does an extra hour cost?
  • Are prints included? Unlimited? What size?
  • Is there digital sharing or an online gallery after the event?
  • Is an attendant there the whole time?
  • What backdrop and props are included?
  • How much space and power does the booth need?
  • What's the deposit or retainer, and when is the balance due?
  • What happens if my event is rescheduled?

Is a photo booth worth it?

For most celebrations, a booth earns its spot. It gives guests an easy activity that doesn't involve dancing, it pulls different groups together, and it gives everyone a keepsake.

It works especially well for:

  • Weddings: guests love a take-home photo, and couples love seeing everyone's photos afterward.
  • Corporate events: holiday parties, client nights and team celebrations where people don't always mix.
  • Birthdays and private parties: milestone birthdays, graduations, quinceañeras and family celebrations.

If your event is small and mostly seated, you may not need one. If you want the dance floor and the booth both busy, pairing a DJ and a booth usually makes the most sense.

Tips to get the most out of your booth

  • Place it near the action. Close to the dance floor or bar, not tucked in a hallway.
  • Open it early. Cocktail hour is a great time to get the first wave of photos.
  • Give the DJ a cue. A quick announcement ("the photo booth is open!") gets the line started.
  • Pick props that fit your crowd. Holiday, wedding or company-branded props all work.
  • Plan what happens to the photos. Digital sharing makes it easy for guests to post and send them.
